Classic Waffle Recipe

This is the most basic, simple recipe for classic homemade waffles. I use this recipe for my DASH waffle maker, which is so fun! This recipe yields about 8 mini waffles. You can make these ahead of time and freeze, or dive in immediately!

Equipment

  • DASH mini waffle maker
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Medium mixing bowl
  • Ladle

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tbs sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • pinch salt
  • 1 cup milk I used almond milk, but any milk will do
  • 2 tbs vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg
  • cooking spray

Instructions

Prep

  • Plug in waffle maker
  • In medium bowl, sift flour and add the rest of dry ingredients (baking powder, salt, sugar).
  • Add wet ingredients to dry (milk, egg, veggie oil), and stir to combine.

Waffles

  • Spray hot waffle maker with cooking spray on top and bottom plates.
  • Using ladle, spoon in waffle batter. Careful not to overflow.
  • Carefully close waffle maker.
  • After 2-3 minutes, check on waffle. Remove once golden brown.
    *If freezing, remove 30 seconds before fully browned future use- that way you can put them in the toaster when reheating*
    Recipe yields approximately 8 waffles.
