Classic Waffle Recipe
Who doesn’t love a good waffle? I mean honestly, who?! If anyone raises their hand here, put it down quickly and try this recipe. This recipe is SOOOO good and super easy to whip up. Plus it uses the adorable little DASH mini waffle maker, which is so freaking easy to use.
I’d go into detail here about the recipe and how to plan out the whole cook here, but using this mini waffle maker is just so intuitive, I feel a little silly detailing the instructions. It’s honestly as easy as make the batter, plug in the DASH mini waffle maker, then pour in the batter. Cook times will vary based on how crispy/brown you like your waffle.
For this batch I wanted to make waffles to freeze for later. I had this genius idea to make homemade eggos, and eventually a homemade eggo sandwich (recipe to come soon). Because I’m going to put them in the toaster oven when I reheat them, I wanted to keep the waffles a little on the less-done side. If you’re planning on diving in right now, cook them till they’re nice and golden brown.
Overview is as follows:
- Plug in DASH mini waffle maker to heat up.
- Make waffle batter.
- Ladle waffle batter into waffle maker.
- Close waffle maker and allow waffle to cook until desired done-ness.
- Remove waffle from waffle maker.
- Repeat waffle cooking process until you’re out of batter.
- Eat waffles immediately, or freeze for future use.
This recipe is incredibly easy to make, and doesn’t require any odd-ball ingredients. If you bake regularly, you probably already have all these ingredients in your pantry. Hooray for no extra grocery store trips!
Combine all ingredients into a bowl, give them a good mix, and then ladle that mixture right on into the waffle maker. Take care not to put too much mix into the waffle maker, as it will squish out the sides. Plus having too much batter will make for a less pretty waffle. Once you’ve reached your desired done-ness, carefully remove waffle with a fork. Serve immediately, or set aside to freeze.
As you can see from my pictures, I opted to cook my waffles a little less because I wanted to freeze them for future use. This way I can put them in the toaster oven straight from the freezer and not worry about them being too crispy.

Classic Waffle Recipe
Equipment
- DASH mini waffle maker
- Measuring cups and spoons
- Medium mixing bowl
- Ladle
Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tbs sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- pinch salt
- 1 cup milk I used almond milk, but any milk will do
- 2 tbs vegetable oil
- 1 large egg
- cooking spray
Instructions
Prep
- Plug in waffle maker
- In medium bowl, sift flour and add the rest of dry ingredients (baking powder, salt, sugar).
- Add wet ingredients to dry (milk, egg, veggie oil), and stir to combine.
Waffles
- Spray hot waffle maker with cooking spray on top and bottom plates.
- Using ladle, spoon in waffle batter. Careful not to overflow.
- Carefully close waffle maker.
- After 2-3 minutes, check on waffle. Remove once golden brown.*If freezing, remove 30 seconds before fully browned future use- that way you can put them in the toaster when reheating*Recipe yields approximately 8 waffles.
